This game has been done like a million times on Newgrounds, we need no more

It's a pretty cool little game, I enjoy the Atari 2600 type graphics and I would suggest having the score meter displayed in those graphics too.
Allow there to be more than one bullet on the screen at any one time.
I'd also say it would be a good idea to make the foreground graphics into their own foreground layer to prevent the tanks from going in front of it unnaturally.
A minor complaint is the lack of explosions, for a game with thirteen exclamation points in the title, I'd expect some strobing "missile command" type explosions on destroying tanks, other planes, and yourself

These are great suggestions celeste800, thank you for taking the time to play the game a bit and enjoy the retro look!

I am a nooob coder in AS3 and this game tested the limits of what I have learned, from ENTER_FRAME to 'for()' loops to arrays. The output window shows errors in the code from time to time and I'm afraid that intermittent disappearing enemies are a result of some 'child of the caller' conflict that I just can't wrap my head around. This is one of the reasons for 1 bullet at a time on the screen.

Thanks for your encouraging words! I do plan to make another game soon; I'm just glad this one is done. In the future, I will definitely take your ideas into mind to help make the gaming experience more enjoyable! ~~Peace~~

Very nice game, it has pretty graphics which manage to look rather nice in their simplicity, the deconstruction/construction process is also rather effective, the new-age music is quite chill, I'd say the work that needs to be done would be to optimize the game for running in a browser window and preventing the arrow keys from scrolling the webpage while playing.
Nice little game

caelesticode responds:

I did not know it did that with the arrow keys, will fix it asap! And what would you say needs optimization? It seems to run fine in my browser(s) :) (but I have some pretty decent computers, so I don't really know how it runs on lower end pc's)

Not bad at all, the main problems with this game are its lack of animation (stylised maybe) and the difficulty curve, I have Asperger's and therefore a great memory, however I still have difficulty passing level 10; consider adding a life based system

Interesting idea, but could use a bit of polish graphically
Just develop the game more and it could be very promising; consider having circles with different properties (Diagonal area of effect? Explosive area of effect that only hits nearby circles?)
I don't know, it's all up to you; it could very well become a half decent game.

Overall mediocre, very nice presentation, however the short music loop is rather annoying, consider lengthening it and trimming the clipping bit from the end (also make the powerup sound in the remix mode cut out after the powerup has worn off (consider adding sounds relevent to the nature of the powerup and stopping the background loop from playing whilst the powerup music is playing))

Pong has been done to death and to be completely honest, kinda sucks; you clearly have the ability to produce highly aesthetically pleasing games, so consider putting these design skills into creating something new and unique.

deityGames responds:

Thank you for your review on the game! You certainly aren't the only one to have an issue with the music, and I will be working on replacing it and updating the game today. This is just the beginning, and you should expect many more (new and unique) games from us in the near future!

One of the reasons we chose to make Pong was because of it's anniversary:
"Today, 43 years ago, the original PONG game was released by Atari.
Things have changed since 1972, the industry has come on leaps and bounds, but you can't deny the charm of such a classic, fun game.
We hope to have honoured Atari's groundbreaker , with our take on the old favourite, come and have a play."

We really do appreciate your review, without your criticism we wouldn't be able to improve our games :).
